Congratulations and warm welcomes to three newly vetted educators, Peter Tupper, Katharine Gates, and Ignixia Roberts!! We just added them to our growing roster of wonderfully knowledgeable expert BDSM/Leather educators. This brings our list to 15 fine educators for you to review and perhaps even line up for your next BDSM/Leather conference. All the info is there at your fingertips, including how to contact them, where you can find them online, and lists of their specialty areas, presentation experience, and educational missions.
BED is particularly gratified to see we are getting a mix of seasoned Scene educators along with scholars and researchers who write and teach about BDSM in academic and other venues. Wouldn’t it be nice to bring in educators who can tell you all about their research on BDSM? Or do you prefer someone who’s going to show you exactly how to tie that Shibari knot that intrigues you? Our educators cover the gamut.
Over time, we hope to expand the spectrum of skills and subjects you can choose from. Even at this early stage, you’ll be amazed at the diversity of experience and topics listed. Our goal for 2018 is to build our list to about 100-150 educators by the end of the year. We will be very happy to hit (or even surpass) our goal but feel that time will be our best friend, and it’s best to spend it carefully vetting and reviewing applications rather than rush to get people listed. We’d rather be small and great than large and questionable if you know what we mean (and we are sure you do). So we will continue to focus on people who users can trust have the right mix of devotion to knowledge about WIITWD and credentials to back it up.
Should you be there? If you’re an honest, hard-working educator, you should. If you know an educator like that, please steer them to us! To apply as an educator, please fill out the form and give yourself credit for all that you do for our Community. Our seven Board members try and turn every application around in a week’s time.
Don’t forget that listing in BED is free of charge. No secret membership fee to get listed and no charge to use our directory either. That will never change. BED is our gift to a Community sorely in need of vetted, qualified educators.

Are you located in a place where it’s hard to find BDSM-friendly and aware educators? If your location is too remote to draw BDSM legends, BED solves the problem for you. Most of our educators will work with you or your group by phone or online chat. You can even stream some of us in. BED educators are all ready and able to create a long-distance experience to enrich your educational programs.

Really soon. Like, maybe tomorrow! We will be debuting our BDSM Group/Organization Directory. Unlike many such directories, we are not simply adding every group we can find. We ask that groups authorize us to list them by completing the group application.
This will be your assurance that the group knows it is listed with us, has provided accurate contact and other information, and is currently in operation and offering opportunities for BDSM education in all its myriad forms, whether it’s demos and parties or conferences and educational tracks. For our debut, we hope to have about 5 groups which have already passed vetting.
Don’t worry: we’ll announce when the Group Directory is up and running, so you’ll get to see who has been approved for listing as soon as it looks pretty enough for public view. Your humble Educatrix is working on that now 🙂
